I've been traveling all my life... near and far... as much as pocket money allowed. Roadtrips are my alltime favourite. Love the feeling that I'm calling the shots. Can go wherever I want, make a turn to whatever direction that my heart pulls me at that precise moment. It is the ultimate freedom and improvisation going hand in hand. There is nothing better. Well, there might be a thing or two... but let's not get into that:)
My traveling started at a very young age. My mother used to put me on a three hour bus or train ride to visit my gradparents when i was just six years old. Of course she made sure that an innocent passenger had to keep an eye on me or that the conductor glimpsed at me from time to time in order to check if i was still there. But to me it felt as if was doing it all on my own, with the world at my feet, nothing but the open road between me and......the grandparents that eventually ended my daydreaming:)
Since then I drove my car all over europe on more than one occasions:) Paddled through magnificent and remote Croatian islands and through all of the 46 kilometers of Slovenian sea:) Had a taste of The Big apple and the life in the hood and in contrast a fare share of the relaxed californian lifestyle:) Somewhere in the middle of all this I fell in love with Spain and France and never seem to get bored of them:)
Standard turist destinations are not for me... I'm more drawn towards unconventional destinations where true colours of that country and its people can be observed an experienced. I firmly believe in the goodnes of people.... but somewhere deep down I am still a little afraid of the day when someone might try to prove me wrong.
